worth getting protected no claims?

well I've got 3 weeks to keep looking. Tbh I've only gone on the compare sites and let them all ring me. When it gets closer to the time I'll ring around them all.

It's a funny thing insurance. If I say my van is worth more it's cheaper ;-/ when me and the wife were looking and a brand new car it was only 500 quid for us both with the wife just passing her test. So in that sense I think they think because it's a new car you will look after it more. But if I smashed it up they would have to pay more out...

When my wife was learning we got a £300 banger (1.3 getz ) (was like a little rocket hehe) her provisional insurance was £45 a month but they say learners are less likely to cash because they check more and drive safely (total lie I have to tell the wife off all the time for driving like a man)

Also changing your milage can make a difference. I do put a true milage but how can they check? They can look at your MOT but who's to say you didn't lend your van/car out and they put a load of miles on it???

Well after a decade or so driving round accident free with max ncb which were unprotected I hit a cyclist. We settled privately but I'd reported it just to be safe and at renewal they'd neglected to close the incident as notification only.. My insurance had nearly doubled from £500 odd to £900 and something!

Once they closed the claim as notification only the premium came back down to around £500 so I decided ncb protection was prudent, but still got the policy for £500 with an acceptable increase in voluntary excess.
