I've owned my 901 for 2 months I do like it a lot, the sheer battery runtime is amazing.. especially with the 3rd party 8800mAh battery i'm using. The main problem i have with my 901 is the keyboard size is quite small I have quite big fingers and i'm having a hard time adjusting to it. Am wondering if it is worth selling my 901 for a N10.

How is the NC10's battery life? I see that no company has yet made any cheap-ish high capacity batteries for it yet.. which is a downer! Does the extra inch screen make the NC10 too big?

Any thoughts on moving to a NC10 from a 901?

What about the eee 1000?

I agree with you about the 901, my wife has one and going from my 1000 to the 901 it's quite a difference.

Suggest you read the NC10 thread just below this. It doesn't need high capacity batteries because the stock one hits 7-8hrs+ lol

I moved from a 701 to an NC10, I couldn't be happier with that decision. It's nice to have a proper usable keyboard, far superior battery life and a much more usable screen size and res. The storage capacity is much better, although of course it is a hard drive not solid state and the Atom cpu is much more responsive in general use.

Over all, it's just a much more usable little computer rather than a gimicky toy with a stupidly low res screen and a keyboard that only a gnome could use comfortably, it is bigger and heavier though but not enough so as to take away it's amazing portability.

901 is good.. but if you really cant handle the size of the keyboard yeh NC10 looks good for you... personally id say get used to it lol and save your money lol

8800mAh batt and 901.. ultra small 8.9" computer with super extended battery life, thats pretty uber gadget right there, will always come in handy ;) just hang on to it and wait for some "new" netbooks to come out :) you been watching CES 2009?

This is something I'm seriously pondering as well. I do like my 901 but its just the keyboard and probably a bit pedantic, also not having a right shift key, does my head in. I hoping I might be able to sell mine for enough so I don't have to spend anymore on the NC10 as I've got the 20gb 901 but I've got my own XP license and 2GB Ram as well.

I had a 901 but found the keybaord and screen just too small, sold it and now have a blue NC10, much better keyboard and screen and qucker and the battery just goes on and on.

Thanks all some valid comments here. I went from a 401 to the 901 the upgrade was worth it but the keyboard is not fun to use, a shame as the 901 is almost perfect. I wouldn't say I have fat fingers but I would imagine a woman would get on much better with the 901's keyboard. Is true if I was to sell my 901 I would be able to get back quite abit of money to fund a NC10, my 901has 2GB RAM and two batteries (one of them high cap).

I keep changing my mind about my 901 I love the fact it has a SSD, battery goes on for +7 hours with wifi and is very compact but the keyboard is chipping away at me abit!

I hear grumbles aswell about the NC10 people not so happy with the speakers and mousepad, but rarely a device is 100% perfect.

Hmm i'll have a think and spend some more quality time with my 901 and see what I think.

Speakers seem fine to me, pretty much what you expect from a Laptop!

Trackpad was a bit tedious but I'm getting used to it. It's smaller than the ones on the EEE but it's sensitive and fast at response so this is a plus.

ok you aint going to write a novel on it but hey you got to keep remembering the size of the thing... ok its only 1" smaller then a 10" but that makes it more Ultra Portable. I can say even typing on my 10" netbook its still not the great but its something i accept due to its size. Unless they make some new revolutionary transforming keyboard this is what you got to expect with a small device. I still say hold on to it for its size and battery.. Save your money for "Future" netbook.. cos soon as you get your sammy nc10 something else will be out taking your fancy. But its your prerogative if the keyboard is really doing your head maybe just do it for peace of mind. Like someone else said These things are rarely perfect. :)

I've decided to take the plunge and order the NC10 to replace my 901 for the keyboard, more space and default XP install. I installed XP on my 901 but just wasn't quite happy as it was nlited before install.
Just waiting for it to arrive now.

I was going to suggest wait and see if the NC20 is any good; it's supposed to be launched next month but I see you have already ordered a NC10. The NC20 will likely be bigger (12" screen) and more expensive though so perhaps it's not what you are looking for anyway.

Sadly unless You want a NC10 just for typing and web browsing it looses out to the Asus 901/1000 which have much better quality screens with resolution hot button offering things like 1024/768 compress etc

And the NC10 speakers sound can only be described as painful !

The only conclusion I can make is people have brought purely on aesthetics and without doubt the NC10 is a better looking Toy.

The Little 901 is without peers fantastic for Skype and mobile Media playback and let's face it the 10" netbooks are halfway nowhere, Maybe if they shoehorned a 12" panel into them and dumped the thick panel surrounds (S101/1002HA) things would be better, but they are still too small to do normal work on really !
