Current issue im having is that the system seems to overheat if i have my sound card in... and it appears to be a system overheat rather than the CPU.

this is quite annoying, although i can use the onboard one and work ok.

My current options are full system upgrade. (£600) buget. looking at a full system maybe the

System Specification
- Case: Coolermaster Elite 335 - Black
- Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream II 600W
- CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 2.80GHz overclocked to 3.60GHz
- Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H 880G
- Cooler: Akasa Venom CPU Cooler
- RAM: Corsair XMS3 (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
- Hard Drive: Seagate Baracuda 7200.12 500GB 16MB Cache
- Graphics Card: Intergrated ATI Radeon HD 4250 with HDMI, DVI and VGA ports or a choice of latest DX11 cards.
- Sound: 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
- Optical Drive: Samsung SH-B083L/BSBP 8x BluRay ROM / 16x DVD±RW Drive - Black

OR
Do a bundle deal. and spend the rest on a SSD.

Or just FIX what i got and prolly remove 2x Hd's change to 1x ssd or hybrid seagate sort the cooling out and exvacuate the dust from my pc which is prolly not helping with the heat issues.

Before talking about the upgrade, How many fans do you have on the P180 and what's their orienatation? Is the sound card blocking the airflow through the system and over the chipset?

The P180 is a decent case, not sure why you would want to swap this for a 335 (which is a decent budhget case).

i did quite a bit of overclocking a while a go. and i think i may have ... burnt out some of the stuff on the Mboard. so any additional PCI's cause issues. also if i remove a HD it seems to last longer:P

i have 3 large fans.
1 facing the HD
1 extractor fan to remove the heat from the top and an addtional 1 blowing over the CPU.

if i have them all set to max. ( sounds like a hover ) its ok donsent really crash. but is as lowd as hell.

So your basing your problems on overheating? It could be a number of things, have you actually monitered the temps? It could just be a faulty mobo.

i have had quite a few issues with things on my mboard. i also managed to burn my ram out . :) and had to buy new about 1 year ago. so my theroy is this if i do have a duff mboard. (due to overheating or other stuff) is it best to just take the bullet now. or try some quick fix's and w8 for the new stuff next year.

so is this 2nd mobo that toasted in the last year or so ?

how did you burn the ram out ?

aside from that if your system does what you need, and depending on answers to the above get a new mobo for what you have at the moment, check the b-grade section of the website when u look.
