Worth upgrading from 1070 to Titan X?

I also own a number of cards with AIB partner coolers which are about as good as they get for air and yes they do make a noise.

Don't change the parameters of your argument when you've run out of facts! And don't suggest I'm making myself look silly in an attempt to close this down. I'm not the one suggesting that 4 titans at 100% load with with moving pumps and fans will make less noise than 0db!

What does gaming on a 1080 at idle have to do with this thread? Nothing! That was not in Your original statement.

Not a bad choice even if you were to pick up a cheaper used 1070. TXP while a fast card is £1179 or what £1000 used? and has a crap reference cooler.

But then you can have SLI problems. In all honesty I'd say sell your 1070 and get a good 1080. If you really feel the need to upgrade.

Your argument is air cooled is quieter than water cooled, this is totally incorrect and most people will tell you the same.

And I think you were the one trying to put an air cooled 1080 in the best possible case scenario, ie @Idle, this is good for nothing as you may as well turn the PC off in that case.

He hasn't suggested it as the air cooled 1080 type/make wasn't specified. If you are assuming he's referring to specific cards that operate at 0db at idle, you could also assume it's plugged into a psu that's noisy in a case that's nearly vacuum sealed requiring 15 fans. These arguments never work either way as most of the time specifics are missed out. It's entertaining for all of two posts :)
