Worth upgrading from 5820k?

i would - sell your current kit + upgrade to a 3700 - it wouldn't cost much but would give you an improvement and a future upgrade path. Saying that 4k gaming removes any CPU bottle necks
pointless going to a 3700x for gaming. from your cpu. go to a 9900k or a 3900x or wait for the next revisions of amd or intel chips.
at 1080 for eg a 5820k stock is 10 fps behind a 3700x. so imagine 4k is will be a couple of fps. really not worth it.

If it works fine currently stick with what you have and see what the next generation of Intel and AMD CPUs will give you.
