Worth upgrading to a 980 ti ?

best thing i ever done was ditch am/ati, after being red team for years hell the last card i had was the R9295x2

and the last green team card i had was a 8800GTX back in the day.

ever since recently ditching the r9295x2 and going 980TI sli its been night and day when it comes to performance and drivers, hell just for the drivers alone i should have ditched amd/ati a long time ago. current game im playing is dark souls 3 and its rockin 60fps maxed @4k on my 980TI`s

i cant say the same for amd/ati no crossfire support yet, i wonder how long they have to wait.

the driver support for aa+ games and sli comes out almost 2x as fast on green than red.... and im not even joking about it, red teams driver department sucks
and until they change there ways i will never go red team again.

next cards i get will be big pascal some time in 2017..

The best thing to do now if looking to buy a new Gpu is wait it out for a few weeks and see what AMD and Nvidia new Gpu`s have to offer.

LOL it might not look much in numbers but thats stilla whopping 73% (ISH)more computing to do than at 1080P

why would i want to RMA a card that clocks to 1505 on stock volts?28. Score 17569, GPU 980 Ti @1505/1901, GFX Score 20732, Physics Score 16456, Combined Score 8602, CPU 5820k @4.4, bigjimmyauk, Post No.886 - Link Drivers 364.72 Have you even played anything more recent than pong? try the new hitman game with all settings at max and 1440p and see how you fair. only thing i can think is if your a 30FPS kind of guy

why would i RMA a cad that clocks like a monster??? because you said it stutters and struggles @ 1080

1440p, definately a 980ti is needed if you want to max out settings and maintain good (>60) fps

and yes, 1440p requires a lot more gpu power. I woukd get similar fps on my 780ti gaming at 1080p as i do with my 980ti gaming at 1440p

I only play battlefront but my 780ti does ultra @ 1440 @ 60fps. It's a good over clocker and benchmarks show a 980 would require an overclock just to match it. That said I know it wouldn't achieve those settings in a game like witcher 3.

Pascal beckons...
