Currently i have

3700 SD
MSI Neo2 Plat
1gb
6800 ultra (AGP :()

Is it worth upgrading? Ive lost track of hardware these days so i have absolutely no clue whats good and whats not

Ideally id just be after a new chip, mobo, ram (2gb) and graphics

What could i get, and would it be worth it, for around 500/600 pounds?

Cheers

tbh, then get Vista when you can afford it. And yes, it's very very worth it.

Sorry i forgot to mention, i have a Qtec psu (oh dear) and i mainly use it for gaming, most new games dont tend to run too well

Is that processor powerful enough?? I see theres a new nvidia chipset thing, would it be worth getting one of those?

Apologies for my lack of knowledge! :p

Yes, the E6300 is a great CPU.

If by the graphics you mean DX10, the 8800GTS is DX10 compatible but you will also need Vista to run DX10 games (not that there are any out yet anyway). Even with XP tho, it's still very much the best card around in that price range.

You'll see a tremendous boost in all round performace with what I suggested. :)

Ah I remember the 6800 Ultra well.

I remember reading about them for months and ATi's alternatives x800xt

Never got one in the end :( had to settle with my 9800XT
