Worth upgrading?

Hi Guys...I'm wondering if a new graphic card would make much of a difference to my pc:

i7 920
6GB DDR3
Win7 x64
80G Intel G2 SSD
NV 8800GTX


I'm thinking of re-using my 8800 in a media pc to play HD content, wondered what it would cost to put a decent card in my system, or should I stick with what I've got?

Depends what you are doing. Though tbh that i7 deserves at least a 5870/480

I gaming terms it would be a no brainer

Aye, my pc is a gaming rig, mostly i only play wow, but i do play a few proper games

Which card gives better bbang for buck atm, NV or Ati?

I went from an 8800GTX to a HD5850 and there was a massive difference!

Hmmm...does sound pretty tempting...would HD5850 be the best option, i could maybe stretchh my budget to about 2-250, ish.

Next thing I need to work on is to see if I can address my NV card via ESXi, would be uber-cool if i could virtualise my media server...think i'll drop another post on that question...
