Guru's

my current system is as follows:

i7 950 3.07GHz overclocked on air to 4.217Ghz (on air)

Bus running 183

Dram 6Gb @ 733.5MHz

Radeon HD6970

Is it worth me upgrading and if so any recommendations on best HW - RAM / MB/ CPU & graphics.

Probably will start / test on air and want to move to Water

budget wise - best performance required - cost not really an issue.

If you had a budget, what would it be?

I think your CPU is still capable, comparison for:

i7 950 vs 4670k
i7 950 vs 4770k

If you wanted to upgrade, the only path where you would see a performance increase would be the 4770k or going for the 4820k on the X79 platform, but the x79 can be more expensive.

Here would be 2 suggestions:

Thanks mate.

As said before budget not really a problem just want best performance and great OC.

If I am going to put water cooling - will the 4820k /4830K be good.

Also X79 MB whats the best - is it the Asus Rampage IV?

Thinking of dual Nvidia 780's too...The titans are too expensive !!

Why do OC's UK not do swiftech Water blocks anymore?
