Worth upgrading??

Hi all,

Currently using a pair of Senn HD555's with a Asus Xonar D2X.

I am looking at a pair of HD600s and a xonar stx to drive them.

Worth the upgrade??

Speakers I use are my trusty Z5500's though only use these in stereo "2 speakers/2channel" mode and only really use now and then for music when not wanting to use my headphones.

Any info much appreciated.

It could be worth buying a headpone amplifier since the d2x doesn't have one iirc. The stx does but in not sure its worth the hit. Even headphones with modest impedance benefit from a headphone amp as i have found with my audio technica m50's. I cant comment on whether or not its worth upgrading the headphones though.

If for gaming or movies mainly then I would say no.

Apparently the fiio e11 is good for around £50 but I don't know much about amplifiers. I just use the headphone port on my pineer amp. I mainly use speakers though
