Would an FX CPU be a worthy upgrade?

Unless you're on Watercooling I doubt most people would see much difference. I can get pretty good clocks on an 8320 and currently have it running at 4.5Ghz 24/7. My advice would be to save the money and invest in a good cooler.

I think it's worth mentioning that although increase in FPS might not be HUGE in a lot games, your whole gaming experience will be better. Your PC will boot faster, Windows will feel snappier, your programs and games will load faster and with a FPS counter running you'll notice and increase in FPS aswell. From boot to shutdown the whole experience will generally be snappier!

I wouldn't upgrade to anything less that the 8 cores I got the first 4 core fx chip & had lots of issues with it ended up getting rid of it & swapping to intel when I could afford to.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

The 8350 turned up on Friday and I spent a good part of the weekend playing around with the settings. I have overclocked at 4.7ghz with the RAM at 2133 and all running stable at 1.45v which I very happy with. I think I have probably reached my limit with my Arctic Freezer 13 pro for cooling as it was reaching 60 C under Prime95. I might look to a better cooler to run this overclock or peg it back abit.

Overall though I'm very impressed.
