It was more the fact that I just wanted it done quickly rather than having to wait for it to be shipped from Thailand (apparently). But yeah, I'll just buy one

And yeah I've bought the chip now, but I wondered if anyone had any going spare to save me having to order the part from Thailand and wait ages for it to turn up!

not sure whether it does 508s though

the sockets say pic16c84 and 24lcxx

not sure if its any use to you

I'm going to try and use it only for those rare and expensive games which I cannot easily obtain.
