Hi guys

I have a asus formula IV motherboard with a AMD FX8350 CPU and have just bog standard Kingston 667mhz memory (8Gb)

Now I believe my motherboard will accept much faster ram so is it a worthwhile upgrade for my system ?

I've overclocked my CPU to 4.9Ghz so would the memory I'm running now slow my system down at all ?

Hi.

The Typical standard speed for Memory these days is DDR3 1600Mhz

Im going to assume you currently have DDR3 PC-3 10666 = 1333Mhz

I would say the speed of your current RAM is pretty slow and could certainly benifit from some faster However you are not going to get a massive boost.

What are the rest of your system specs?

Hi

Thank you very much for replying

I have just tried a program call "performanceTest 8.0 and its telling me I have 4 sticks of Kingston ram 2Gb DDR3 PC3-10600 1.5v Clk: 667.7MHz 9-9-9-24 timings

I have an asus crosshairs formula IV board with a AMD FX8350 CPU 8 Core running and 4.9ghz and a SSD drive and a ATI 7950 graphics card which is overclocked a little too

So is that memory holding my system back in anyway ?
