It's my first time trying to build a computer and I have a list of all the parts I'm gonna use to build it. I just want to know if it is it actually possible to build it? (Will all the pieces fit together etc).

PSU: OcUK Value 500W ("Primo 510i" Intel H61 DDR3 Ready Barebones)
MotherBoard: Asus P8H61-MX Intel H61 ("Primo 510i" Intel H61 DDR3 Ready Barebones)
RAM: Kingston ValueRAM 4GB
Graphics Card: MSI GTX550Ti V2 NVIDIA Graphics Card - 1GB
CPU Fan: Cooler Master Hyper TX 3 EVO
CPU: Intel Core i3 2120
CD-ROM Drive: OcUK 22x SATA ReWriter
Network Card: TP-Link Gigabit PCI Network Adapter
USB: Startech PEXUSB3S2 2 Port PCI Express SuperSpeed USB 3.0

Hi and Welcome.

What do you want the system for gaming of just web browsing ect as there are a number of way to improve the build.

What is you max budget?
Do you need anything else, an OS for example?

Gaming mostly but I have a £350 budget so i thought I was doin pretty well, all these come to about £343

Imma clone my old Hard Drive for OS but if it doesnt work then ill just use Linux

I have made a few changes, but it is a bit over.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £99.95
1 x MSI HD 6850 OC 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £94.99
1 x Gigabyte H61MA-D2V Intel H61 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £41.99
1 x GeIL Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit (GD38GB1333C9DC) £37.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 430W V2 '80 Plus' Power Supply (CMPSU-430CXUKV2) £36.98
1 x Xigmatek Asgard II Windowed Midi Tower Case - Black £32.99
1 x LG GH24NS90 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.99
Total : £376.88 (includes shipping : £12.50).

I have swapped out the case and PSU to a better one, the OcUK one are very poor PSUs for gaming. The motherboard has USB 3 on it and you don't need a CPU cooler, one is supplied with the processor. The 6850 is a much better card than a 550Ti. You don't need the Network or USB card as it is built into the motherboard.

Wow, thanks man. Will all of these things definitely work together?
And are you sure the 6850 is better? I'm not being ungrateful for your help or anything, its just that a friend of mine told me that the 550 ti is really good and cheap

The build I done is cheaper, and has more RAM, but put a DVD drive in there, I forgot

ok, I did a sort of pick n mix from them all. It comes to an adequate price and (I think) does the job. tbf i really am terrible at this tho lol

This is sorta on topic and sorta off topic...
The hard drive I'm getting obviously doesn't have an OS on and I don't have enough to buy Windows 7, so I was wondering. should I use Linux Ubuntu instead? I hear that if you use a program called Wine, you can play most Windows games. But will all the parts that I listed above work with Linux? Because (like I said, I don't know much about all this) I heard something about Drivers not working with OS's other than Windows... (I don't know what a Driver is)
