Would i need to install XP again ?

If i replaced my mobo would i have to re-install my OS ? Also if i reinstalled my OS would i have to reformat my drive and lose everything on it ?

Depends totally on whther the system takes to the motherboard, although it should be ok.

It would be like flashing and updating your bios i persume. But give it a go.

Depends on the diffs between the old and new, for example when I went from an Asus P4P800E-Dlx P865 chipset mobo to a Gigabyte DS3P P965 chipset mobo XP refused to load, it would get so far and the PC would restart. Ended up doing a repair to get the PC running then eventually did a complete re-install a few weeks later.

Hi I have done what you ask several times, sometimes it works and others its a pain, I found that if it is going to work I start in safe mode and remove old drivers etc. I have found that it is never 100% good and sometime down the road it will jump up and byte you in the ass

so if poss a full reinstall is best
