Would it matter?

I bought a HDD (WD2500YS - WD 250GB RE) from a competitor but they managed to send me a WD2500KS. Would it matter if I just used this in a RAID with my existing WD 250GB RE? Besides the loss of £6.

It's the RAID chip on the ABIT AB9 QUAD board.

Wouldn't matter in the short-term, the 2500YS has a longer MTBF so you may find the KS stop working a year or two earlier than the YS (or may not, HD's are a lottery :p ). You could use any drive of 250GB or greater. Complain and get the YS that you paid for, or at least a refund of the difference.
