Hi there,

I have just spent ages perfectly setting up a PC for my Mum ready to use.

Now I want to use that PC for a Linux project untill she gets back from holiday and I was wondering:

If I take out that hard drive and put in another hard drive, could I do mystuff on that drive and then replace the other hard drive when I hand it to my mum, and would it still work fine?

Yes, there should be no problems whatsoever because you aren't affecting the contents of the original hard drive. Just put it back as it was before and everything ought to be fine.

keep it safe in a box somewhere in an antistatic bag and it shoudl be good as new when you replace it. Provided you don't play with any CMOS or hardware options as part of the project.
