Im am going to hold out until November till upgrading my system, and maybe see how Crysis runs on my current system. My system at the moment is,

Win XP MCE
Asus A8N-SLI mobo
AMD 64 X2 4800+
3GB DDR PC3200 400mhz
Nvidia 7900 GTX 512MB

If i was to just purchased a 8800 GTX card would this cause any of my other components to be bottlenecks? And would i see a large leap in performance with just changing the card

In a game like crysis yes it would prove a bottle neck. In a game like oblivion not so much. Depends what the game likes. Its said crysis will equaly use the cpu and graphics card a lot. Games like oblivion tend to be more graphics orientated. Most games the gpu is the bottle neck not the cpu.

The high end cards come out january/february. The GTS will come out from jan to february then probably the GTX version in march/february. It tends to be behind by about 20 days.

It will probably start with a 9*** as well. Just my opinion but i beleive most will say jan to february for them to appear with the gtx 20-30 days later.

No problem. It stops me going insain being on here. Id say wait until november and crysis comes out. if you need to upgrade youll be looking at a new motherboard and cpu.
