Right now, I have a USB wifi dongle on my gaming rig. It works OK, apart from a few drop outs.
If I was to have the USB dongle on another machine, and connect the other machine to my gaming machine 1 or 2 metres of cat5 through a non-wireless router, would this add much latency? 1ms or 2ms I could live with. 10ms or over, and I'll have to figure out another way of doing it.
I guess tracert would be a nice way of testing it when it's plugged up?
