Hey :D

I'm buying new parts for my computer and wondering if theses 3 components will work well together:

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1055T 2.80GHz (Socket AM3)
Heres the link at OCUK :http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-267-AM

Motherboard: Asus M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 AMD 880G (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard
Heres the link at OCUK: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-402-AS&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=1782
Btw, i've got a nVidia graphics card would this work with that motherboard?

RAM:Corsair XMS3 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Triple Channel
Heres the link at OCUK: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-205-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1389

Thank you (:

This system will generally blow a AMD hex-core system out of the water in most applications and especially games.

4GB ram is more than enough - unless you're doing heavy encoding or similar.

2500k can be overclocked to at least 4.6GHz - making it even faster, on cheap cooling.

Thanks for the tip on the ram and i will buy the one what you've reccommend

But erm... woudn't a 6 core AMD be better than that cpu cookeh?

Surprisingly not. Hardly any applications are actually threaded properly for 6 cores, so the i5 beats the x6 in most apps.

Check the comparison at Anandtech that RJC posted, it'll surprise you.

+1

It's newer architecture, which means it can process things faster than the AMD can - so even with fewer cores its faster!
