Would this card run CoD:Mw2?

If you're looking to buy a gpu now for it i'd go for a 5770, then you can always crossfire later if the need arises. Either that or pick up a 4870 cheap on the bay which is similar in performance.

Well, directX 11 i don't really need becuase it shaves off like 20 fps compared to directx 10. So Arctine becuase you have put it like that, it seems more sensible to go for the 4870/90.

I will also have a search on eBay.

Thankyou guys.

Yeah ebay seems a good idea. If you can find an HD 4890 going cheap, happy days. If not a 4870 will be more than good enough, just make sure you don't get a 512mb and get the full 1gb.

I ran COD MW on a 8800GTX but still felt hard done by, Spend more it'll be worth it & you won't regret it.

really?

I run COD MW on an 8800GT 512 and average 80-90fps all the time, 1680x1050. Everything maxed out apart from AA.

OP - it will be fine.

It really depends on the resolution you're playing at. 1024/768 will be fine, anything higher you will have to drop AA and lets be honest games look damn ugly without it :)

If you're playing at 1680/1050 or above then the card isn't going to cut it!

You would be better buying second hand at that price or as posted above spend a litte more and get a HD4890. if you want to stick to your budget and want a new card then go for the HD4870 which comes with Grid 2, see HERE .

I'd stay away from the 512mb version, their performance really isn't anywhere as good as the gig. I know that from experience, i was disappointed with mine.

Interesting you saying that, I did check Toms GFX chart prior to that post, the difference on their webiste was minimal (2-3 fps at 1920 res) only one game that used the extra ram was Fallout 2. :)

8800 will be fine for mw2, but i agree that you should look for a 4870\4890 in the 100 quid range. Will be a lot happier in the long run.

My previous card was a 8800GTS 512mb (G92) and like your pics performance was fine until I ran through smoke or a nade landed near me or an expolion from a car.....then I had to pick my FPS back up from the floor, anyone can take nice pictures (non action) and show good fps ;)

ok the people that are saying this will struggle are very wrong - this card will eat that game

I have a gt9600 that is less powerful then the 8800 and I can run medium/high perfectly

:)

I wouldn't call any of those close but....

We could go on forever, the op wants a graphics card to play MW:2, you say that it plays fine, op buy your self a 8800GT with your £100 budget, I still stand by with the comments I made :p

I am using a 9800GTX+ 512mb on 2048x1152 and it runs fine, albeit with no AA. An 8800GT is around 15% slower IIRC so should still run fine.
