i already have a dvd drive and graphics card (which will be updated when the new breed come out) so those are not needed in this purchase.

budget is £1000 with postage, any suggestions would be excellent.

take care

edit: aim is for a fast, quiet and stylish pc, loads of flashy lights and what not are not my thing. thanks again

Looks fine to me. Words cannot express how much I love that case. If some kind soul wants to sell it to me for £50 I will be eternally thankful.

Hi there, welcome to the forums, for your build I have a couple of suggestions:

Swap out the RAM for this stuff, much better and faster.

If you were planning to use the WD Green as your Primary drive, i'd say don't. Its a good, quiet and efficent drive, but its performance is pretty slow. For an OS drive you want something nice and quick, like this.

Do you plan on overclocking your CPU? If so, I suggest getting a nice CPU cooler like this. Should take you up to 4.0GHz pretty happily.

I have not had any hands-on experience of the Lian-Li cases, but I have heard they are very nice. However, for £150 I would be looking for something bigger than a Midi case. Something like this or this would be good alternative choices.

BTW - that dell is a lovely monitor, good choice.

probably will want to overclock eventually but not for quite some time, or is the stock cooler loud and terrible?

thanks for the replies guys

Nah, it will be quite quiet. But I prefer to chuck everything together now then you dont have to worry later.

switched the ram and hard drive to those that you suggested, nice one.

yeah i would also like to stick everything in now however my budget does not allow it unfortunately, must be no more than £1000!

thanks again all, probably the most helpful forum i have been to as of yet!

ok so updated spec with the help of you fellows, providing that the cheap aftermarket heatsynk is needed, which i'll take your word for as i am pretty sure you know more than i:

awesome, only £1.97 over budget after changing to the above cooler so completely acceptable. thank you very much. so all well and good now, right?

Yeah, I agree with cmndr_andi that cooler is better. The only sticking point i have now is the case, a lot of my mates have had that and not liked it. Maby a Cosmos would be better?

oh really, how come? thing is, this computer is between my bird and me and she thinks that the cosmos "looks like a cyberman"! don't ask...
