Hello everyone, I have seen a lot of good advice given to other purchases on this forum so I am now I want some of that good advice. I have held out a long time in upgrading as I was still on an an AMD 64 so the upgrade has to be a full one which costs money. I want to go for an i7 core for future proofing for the new Flight Sim BOB:Storms of War and to be able to play Empire on full whack. Anyway this is the system I am after, what do you think?

Thanks for the reply :)

I prefer the g5 for it's cheaper price and the Hitachi is slightly cheaper this week. But I probably will not buy this week so I will probably swap it for the Samsung Drive.

I have a Razer Barracuda Sound Card and Headset which I am not impressed with, I don't know what there other stuff is like how do they compare?

I would second the move to a samsung HDD over the hitatchi, even if its a little more its well worth it. Personally I prefer Razer to logitech, but either way im sure you would be happy.

the headset is notoriously bad though I've never tried one. don't know about the sound card but I cant imagine it's anywhere near the quality of the x-fi you specced (I have an x-fi fatality pro myself and it really is a great sound card)

on the keyboard and mouse front I use a razer diamondback 3g mouse and a lycosa keyboard along with a goliathus mousemat. It's a great combination in my opinion and features like macros and backlighting are really useful in ways you may not expect (photoshop shortcuts for instance) but you do get these features on the g15 too (and a geeky screen :D) so It's all preference in the end, logitech make great gaming peripherals and the only reason I dont use a g9 is because I have midget hands :D

Cheers guys you have given me something to think on, I will change the drive to the Samsung one and read some reviews on the Razer mice/keyboards. The G9 to me looks butt ugly aswell and I like geeky screens :D

No need for the sound card.

I don't know why but since I got my first Sound Blaster I feel a PC is naked without a sound card. Daft I know but I am an audio person who spends most of the day listening to music so I feel its warranted if not really needed.
