ah ok, so is that good or bad? I would have really liked it if it had the M-pack which is the same as a UK Sport.

So what would a 2004 325i Auto with 30 k on the clock be worth in the uk?
 
probably not as much as you paid for it considering the steering wheel will be on the wrong side :p
 
Depends how you drive. If you like to pose and race along straight roads then keep the TT. If you like to 'drive' a car and balance a car on the throttle and feel the chasis move under you cross country on smooth quiet roads then buy the BMW. SE model is quite soft however, but there is a great chasis sitting under there, and rear wheel drive is MUCH more fun to drive quickly.

I had 2 E46 M3's so I would say sack both and get the M3 now! Different league to both and the engine is to die for.

Hmmm not convinced about this tbh. Recently bought a 330d and it's nowhere near as much fun to drive as my GTV V6, which isn't exactly renowned for having a good chassis. I was expecting more but then it is hampered by the steptronic box...

To the OP, I would really consider what you want out of driving. Luckily I still currently have the Alfa so I can get out in that for my "speed fix" :D can't say I have driven a TT so don't know what they are like...

I would imagine most of this not as much fun stems from the fact you are now missing both a manual gearbox and a glorious straight six petrol engine noise, rather than becuase the GTV is more fun than a 3.

edit: I love the 330d, it's just a different kind of driving experience. Luckily I currently still have both! Might have to sell the Alfa soon though :(

Oh and it's a V6 ;)

Have done .... still uninspiring.

I am not going to be silly and say they are carp ... that is not the case. They are superbly engineered cars but I think you pay over the odds for one, get very little as standard without paying for it and I personally, given the choice, would rather have the Audi.

All the 0-60, torque, performance stats and BMW sales speak can be quoted but I speak as I find and having driven quite a few of them, I just think they are over-rated. Only a couple of Beemers float my boat, the M3 and M5 which are monstrously good motors with awesome powerplants, but give me an RS-4 or RS-6 any time.

First performance car I have owned Fox, not what I have driven. Off the top of my head I have driven a 316, 325, 328is, 330, 528, 530d and test drove a 540.. I have had a spin in an M3 as a passenger and I admit whole heartedly I was very impressed and I would say I would have been driving it as well.

Yes my MR2 does not have the build quality of a BMW and I would rightly be lambasted for saying so, but I just find it a rock hard and awesome drive with amazing mid-range pick up, as do some BMW's. My A4 is high mileage and diesel, but I would take it over a like for like Beemer. This is what I feel Fox, I prefer Audi to BMW and not a lot would change my mind over that.

The car world is bigger than Bavaria Fox. ;)

The only way you might soak it up then, the roll eyes does reflect the unmistakable child in you if I dare go so far on here.

I can't put it any other way than I do not like BMW's .... simple as. You do, great. I wish no offence to Beemer drivers here and if they like them then crack on and happy motoring. I do not wish to change your mind and wish you all the driving enjoyment you desire if that is the genre of cars that float your boat. They just don't float mine. I ask if you don't respect my freedom of choice, then at least understand it. It is almost as if you spit your dummy when someone dares to criticise a BMW.

While this might be construed to be a personal insult, that is not my intention. I just wish you would listen sometimes without blinkers being worn. If I am deemed out of order by the powers that be, then I will take the consequences on the chin but I regret not speaking my mind more than the other way.

You got a rolleyes becuase quite frankly, it was a completely pointless comment. I know only too well that there is more to the car world than just one manufacturer. Hell, I don't even own one of their cars right now. Just becuase they happen to make two of my favourite cars around at the moment doesn't mean I'm some sort of blinkered 'only BMW will ever do' person, as you implied.

I resent that implication. As a regular poster to Motors I am sure you have noticed I tend to recommend cars from all manufacturers from time to time, not simply BMW's.

You came into a thread about a BMW with 'i dont like them'. Now, you are entitled to your opinion, but you must accept that I am entitled to mine, just as I'm entitled to challenge yours and of course, you mine. This is a discussion forum. Challenging someones opinion doesn't usually involve stupid remarks like 'There is more than just Bavaria'.

I am probably one of the least blinkered people in this forum. You will never, for example, hear me come out with such tripe as 'Oooh, I couldnt have one of those, I dont like Seats' or something similar. I judge each car on its merits, irrespective of brand. It just so happens that at the moment, my cars of choice are BMW's. Doesn't mean I don't respect other brands equally - I'm quite fond of most of Audi's range, also. Infact there are probably more Audi's I like than BMW's. But dont let that get in the way of your little dig, eh? :)
 
The wink was clearly missed on the Bavaria comment it seems, but I stand by what I said.

You may recall that none of my posts have criticised you for liking BMW's. I advocated free choice and that is clear. I advocated I do not like BMW's and that is clear.

You will accept that or you won't, either way I don't give a one right now.

I withdraw now as I am in a right bad 'un and have neither the time nor the inclination at the minute.
