If it was just the date you were concerned about, it wouldn't bother me.
However, since you've defrosted, and then refroze, I wouldn't eat it.

As said, it's a pie, go and buy another one :p.
 
yeah just gonna bin it and buy another one at some point
would have munched it today but not wanna spoil my steak pie dinner on new years day!

not only will there be increased bacteria from defrosting it it will have also lost any quality it had to start with, if it had any

buy a new pie, they're cheap you know
 
I would, there will be absolutely nothing wrong with it. These guidelines are to ensure 99.99999% of food is safe, you have to be an idiot to follow them, just use common sense and a bit of knowledge.

Al you have to remember is when it was defrosting than bacteria where multiplying, when you freeze it the second time, you don't start again at zero.

Defrosting it and then refreezing it was dumb. If you really want it make sure its throughly cooked at a high temperature, above 82* if my Kitchen training serves as it should kill most bacteria nad you should be OK :)
