I sold him an X-fi Titanium Championship for £150 on a popular auction website (which he bidded to) and now after a month he is asking for £30 refund because it didn't include the manual or cd. I explained to him they can be downloaded from the website and that they are not worth £30.

Now he's opened a paypal dispute on me  Would you refund him?

Unless it said in the listing that you would be sending a manual or cd, no, i wouldn't.

Yeah but you could see it the other way unless he stated in the listing they werent included.

However if they are free i say just burn a cd and print off some a4 sheets of the manual to send him :D

ideally you should have stated that it came without the cd and manual, but on another note hes trying to pull a fast one claiming £30 . cant you try dig out the cd and manual and send it to him?

what would he do with the £30? he sure as hell isnt going to go out and buy a manual and cd! just kindly direct him to where both can be downloaded and tell him thats the end of the matter

TBH, he should have complained a few days after.

It's not as though it's like he had to go through a hundred different items with a fine tooth comb to figure out they were missing. They're drivers! Who the heck uses the CD most of the time, unless the product has literally just been released I'll just download the drivers from the internet. The only time I won't is with a new MB / windows install just to get the PC up and running until I sort out stuff, and then will update them. Even then I'll usually have downloaded the latest before hand!

Not after a month! I may have been a little more sympathetic if he emailed after opening it, but it certainly wouldnt have been £30 even then!

Had exactly the same situation happen to me about a year ago. I sold a Nikon D40 camera.

Now if I am honest I completely forgot to include the manual + CD when I posted the camera but I did not state that they would be included anyway.

I got a really rude email from the buyer with all sorts of threats so I called the auction site helpline and forwarded all the emails that we sent each other. I was told that unless it stated on the listing the the manual and CD were included then I was under no obligation to send them. The buyer was also banned for a while due to the threats.

If he had have been nice about it he would have had the stuff in the post the next day.

this guy has a point ,fair enough it was like a few days after, a week pushing it! but a month is kinda ridiculous, even a shop would laugh at you, tell him to jog on, submit your evidence to paypal, im sure theyll side with you on this one...

hes past the distant selling regs and also its sold as used. After a month you cant complain as you would have used after a month.

Get any money you have out of paypal and disassociate all your bank accounts with them.

Thanks for the replys and lmao at #12, I would if I had them! I'm gonna look for the manual and send the CD. I hope Paypal side with me.

I stated the item came fully boxed but I meant it comes in a box. I think he has buyers remorse as he keeps stating how he paid more than you can get it new (which he didn't).

Dark_Angel agree 100%. I even added two items worth £15 each for him when I sent it!
