Feels a bit sad that I want to do that to be honest...

Currently live in Lisbon, and everyone has work tomorrow - but I managed to blag the day off somehow! Bored and fancied something to do - no one is doing anything because of work, so looked at trip advisor and found a good one with generally good reviews.

Id have no problem doing this with a mate, but on my own, just feel a littttttle bit weird...

What do you think? :D

Nah do it, just try to talking to people and not sitting on your own for the whole crawl!

I wouldn't do it, I only drink to socialise. But saying that, it could be a new way to meet new people? Depends on you're personality.

Go for it, I moved to a new place recently and im in the same boat as you on gotta do something you wouldn't normally to meet some new people and socialise :)

Is this an organised thing? I think that's OK.

Doing a 'bar crawl' on your own is just visiting lots of bars isn't it?

I'd rather go to a nice restaraunt for a late dinner, then sit on the sea front with a bottle of wine and box of cigarettes and watch the water.

The trick to appearing a convivial, charming and thoroughly nice chap is to drink with a disregard for your health bordering on the insane.

Worried what to say? Three double vodkas (no ice)!

Feeling self-conscious? A pint of rum!

Why is everyone looking at you? Whisky in your belly, put some there.

Once you get mingling with the patrons of the bar you'll realise that in a lot of ways they're just like you. Sure, they have jobs and hold healthy relationships with people who care about them. Yes, they probably have meaningful things to help fill their day and they probably don't jack it to MLP every evening but apart from that you are all the same.

Thought this was a serious post till i read "jack it to MLP"

If anyone is interested, I got ready and dressed, and then wouldn't have made the train (40 mins into Lisbon) so would've missed the starting point and didn't think it was worth while.

However, I did think this and text the organiser on the website to see if I could meet up with them at a later bar. Had no reply, so was preparing myself for fap mode for the rest of the night. Had a text later on saying I could do that, so plucked up the courage and met up with the people at midnight.

Now it wasn't an absolutely amazing night by any means, but it was pretty good! Met a few Brazilian lads, and got one of their numbers (non-homo) - so will probably meet up with him for a few beers on a weekend in the future. So I made a local friend which is good to have.

Was a little bit of a distance between us with me not knowing Portuguese, but only when they were talking between themselves, but this lad had the courtesy to tell me what they were talking about. I am sure they would have spoke English all the time around me, but one of the lads English wasn't very good at all, so I can totally understand that.

Was a very strange experience for me, but I am glad that I did it and would do it again. I would urge others in my position to give it a try also!
