Would you swap the following?

MSI 2080 Ti Gaming X Trio with EK waterblock & backplate.

For

EVGA 2080 TI FTW3 Ultra.

If so would you be happy with a straight swap?

The previous buyer backed out at the last moment annoyingly.

The air cooler on the evga card is meant to be pretty good though it's got a triple slot i/o plate so if you're going to mount it vertically make sure you have space. Not compatible with the cablemods bracket for instance, thats dual slot only.

I've no intention of mounting an air cooled card vertically.

To be honest I'd probably be looking at selling it on shortly afterward, which would likely be easier with the air cooler on.

That’d be the only worthwhile reason to do it really. It’s going to be similar performance just with more noise.

Well I did the trade, unfortunately while draining my loop I spilled coolant all over the motherboard while removing a tube.

Its dried out quite quickly but will wait a day or two before powering it on.

Nooo, flip[ping heck, easy to do, get the hair dryer on it as well, it'll be fine tbh. My mate was building a PC couple of years ago and knocked a whole mug of coffee on his

We sprayed a cleaning solution on it for stains, slapped it in the airing cupboard for 12 hours worked like a charm and worked ever since... i think once they dry theyr'e fine, it's turning on when wet that's the killer as you know... good luck though fella, hopefully not damanged.

i would 100 percent agree. I am sure I saw someone selling a pc systems a couple of months ago on the forums and was going to look into it as a rig. Then I noticed everything was water cooled. That’s fine and everything but a hassle if I ever wanted to update or replace anything and ofc it’s a lot more expensive as it’s water cooled.

So its been a bit of a round Robin but I've now sold the 2080 Ti.

I swapped my MSI Gaming X Trio with EK Block for an EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3 Ultra.

I've then sold the EVGA card for £599 plus an EVGA 2070 Super XC Ultra in exchange.

Quite a good trade overall so I'm happy.

I've got a very good "temporary" card to last me until the 3080Ti is released so I'm pleased and no down time.
