WoW character transfer

In WoW when you change a char from one server to another, I know you have to wait forever to swap him to another one. If he swaps accounts however, can he still change servers immediately?

I ask this because my mate has a character he wants to give to me, but if he transfers it to my account will i then be able to change it's server?

both accounts have to be in the same name as far as i know, but yes - if you transfer a character to another account you can also transfer what server the character is on.

Yeah same email also I think, but that's easily changeable.

You're gonna have to buy a new copy of WoW / CD-Key as the name on the account ain't changeable, it's like 15 pounds in the shops now and I think you can buy just the CD-Key on eBay for cheaper.

You can do both at the same time. When I moved servers, one of the options available was "move to another account". Since it works on the same system, I believe the waiting period is the same for moving server or account. Tell your friend the name of the server you want to move to and get him to do it when he transfers the character to you.

I did a transfer recently, happened almost instantly. It just depends how busy they are at the end of the day.

I know you can't create Horde and alliance on a PVP server, but can you transfer an allaince to a server you have a horde char on ?

if it's not a pvp server your moving it to it should be doable.

To the OP i dont think will be possible, a friend of mine wanted to do the same thing with an account he got from a friend but they wouldn't let him due to differant account name.

No, because then you would have horde and alliance on the same server, which isn't allowed.

There is an FAQ that answers all of these questions on the transfer site.

Also, while you are getting the character transferred, make sure there is no impending post as this will stop the transfer from happening, or if your lucky, just delay it. Also, im not too sure, but you cannot have anything *in* your mailbox, can you?

I think you just lose anything that's in the mail system.
