I know there is a thread for WOTLK but I never got an answer in there so I thought i would start a new post.

I have got my druid up to L80 and he has all L200 - L226 gear.

I was duel specing with Feral and Healing but i dont really enjoy healing as much so thought i would go dps/tanking. Or is that a waste of a spec?

Is there a way of linking my character as well so you can give me some ideas as to tweaking him so he can do better dps?

Im not in a serious guild as I only play when im on night shifts. But I still do some raiding with friends.

My dps is quite poor but i crit at 13k with my biggest hit. Not sure if thats good or bad for a L80.

Anyway, advice and suggestions would be very much appreciated!

Thanks

The easiest way for you to give us info on your character is to link your armoury page.

If you are unsure how to do that go to the wow-europe website and go to armoury then type your char name in. Once you find your char click it which will bring up a info page with your char items specs etc you should also have a link so you can just copy paste that link for us to look at (if you already knew that great :) )

With regards to dr00d, there is no harm in having a tanking and dps spec. I know a few dr00ds that have done this. Its just a matter as to what sort of dps you want to do ? Cat dps (melee) or Boomkin dps (caster)

I can't give you much help with regards to specs as my dr00d is sat at level 70 in his kara tanking kit :p But check out elitistjerks their forums is just jam packed full of information

Ferals like most classes these days don't have rotations but priority lists.

keep up Savage roar at all times.
Keep mangle up (unless you're running with another feral who is keeping it up or an Arms warrior)
Keep rake up
Keep rip up using 5 combo points
use shred if mangle and rake are up to build combo points

Practice on a target dummy.
When you get used to doing all of that, you can add in Ferocious Bites when you have spare combo points and Savage roar and Rip are up.

Sounds like what im doing. I normally start off with mangle, then get rake going, then go back to mangle until im at 5 pts, then rip, then do the behind attack if im not already there. Then if i get around to 5 pts again i use Ferocious Bite instead

Someone said to me that as my crit is over 45% (i think slightly under now as i changed my legs gear) that i should concentrate on strength instead of more agility. Does that sound right? Or should I go all out agility and go for the crits?

My character is leather worker so i have that at my disposal but i do have a high level enchanter where i can get upgrades from. I recently got mongoose on my first ever kara run which i was impressed with. Especially as the group shortly disbanded over an arguement about who was tanking lol

Only mangle when the debuff is going to fall off -- shred is better dps.

With the changes a while ago, agi is pretty much superior to strength (though str is still good). When you get to high gear levels, armor penetration is the way to go. Check out the link above for details.

Also check hit, expertise caps -- you're over the hit cap at the moment, so you can afford to lose quite a bit of hit.

So even though i have high agility you would continue with that rather than going strength. Should I convert my strength gems for agility?

Ill take a look at that site although im slightly insulted its called dps for dummies

Mouse over your hit rating for your ArPen.
Don't be insulted, the stuff on EJ is researched and discussed by pretty serious raiders :)
Ye agi gems would be better, but the difference won't be huge -- depends how rich you feel.

Don't gem strength as a druid ever (not anymore at least)

Gem Agility for dps gear until you have around 400arp rating + either Grim Toll or the Ulduar version (something runestone)

Replacing your strength gems with agility will make the dps rotation slightly easier due to the higher crit chance. Feral dps is generally agreed to be one of the harder specs to get the most out of so don't be too put off if your DPS starts off low.

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Stormrage&n=Vareth < my armory if you want a nosey, probably be in tank gear but you can still check out the dps spec.

so agil increases arp?

Nope, only arp increases arp.

Problem with arp is that low amounts of it are verging on useless, unless you have a healthy amount of it from gear alone (before gems/procs) its better to gem for agility.

Note: you'll really need to be Ulduar25+ geared to be able to arp gem without a dps loss.

The elitistjerks guide linked further up the page has a good section on arp thats well worth a read.

Yeah basically for optimal speccing or gearing guides you cannot get better than elitistjerks, read the entire thread and yuo'll be an ace at your class if you practice.

Thanks guys you have been very helpful. So for now i should avoid ARP as im only on 275 or something until ive done some ulda25?

I have a couple of red uncut gems sitting in my bank at the moment. Do you think i should replace the strength gems and get agility +20 on them instead?

And whilst we are talking about ARP isnt that going to be nerfed or replaced in a near patch? I am sure i read it somewhere.

Im not sure i will get accepted for an ulda25 run yet with my gear and lack of experience. Which other raids should i try and get on? Done Naxx25 which was fun. Woulndt mind doing totc10. Think i would get in?

Stack agility. Until you geared in FULL ulduar or mainly toc gear then you go to apr

Totc10 is easy mode, we do it in guild, take 5mains and 5alts anything from fresh dinged to geared for 25man, its tbh its very very easy, anyone that says your not geared is stupid.

This is my druid i'm currently leveling: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Grim+Batol&n=meeooww

Got a lvl 45 blue helm to replace the caster on i have atm, really really enjoying playing a druid tho :) tempted to reroll for IC if i can get geared quick enough.

Fun class, really got annoyed last ngiht, you cna't put Mongoose on a Bind on account item :( really wanted mongoose on the artifact dps 2h mace, so i'd decided to use my current one until the mace is a lot better. Got plans for BT and SWP raids when i get to 70 for some imba leveling gear too.

What you cant put mongoose on an account item? Damn i was going to do the same thing when i got the mats for it. Can you not enchant at all?
