Wow first timer, help installing please!

i think wow is over rated! i dont see the point in buying a game to then have to pay a monthly subscription! stupid!

Agreed it's over rated. But the monthly sub is not stupid, the game is constantly updated with new content. That's the point of MMO's, the company isn't going to keep developing the game if they don't have income from it.

The thing about MMO's is they're constantly updated, bugs are fixed and new features are added. That's the benefit of paying a monthly subscription. There's also the GM's, account support etc which is always far, far more reliable, faster and of better quality with a paid MMO and a F2P MMO.

WoW itself I've tried and I'm not a fan, but when you consider I play City of Heroes every night, often for 3-4 hours and today i've played for about 5 hours then the cost per hour is minimal, often in the pence.

8.99 per month of a little cheaper if you buy more at one time

if had some much play time out of wow, worth every little penny.

dont play it now tho, (nerfbat on my holy din) :( :(

Thanks for all the advice guys. In hindsight if I had access to someone's complete copy to put onto an external HD then put on my computer thats what I would have done. I didn't or at least would have had to wait until today! Haha.

As far as the fee goes I think if you work it out as the average amount of time you play per month versus cost it is very good value for money. For example a trip to the cinema is roughly £10 a go for me for two hours, £5 an hour. Play this for a couple of hours a day and your laughing!

well i might look into it :p i'm being converted :p

Try some F2P mmo's to get a feel of what they are like. (Free to play) Bearing in mind that a paid one such as WoW will likely be much better and have a much larger playerbase. I can recommend Runes of Magic as a decent F2P MMORPG.
