Hi all. I am going to give WoW another go just to pass a few hours every now and then:rolleyes:.

I have the Battlechest version which has both WoW and TBC included. I have installed both DVD's and now its downloading and installing TBC again:confused: No idea why. I cant play the game or even update the patches it just goes to the download and install.

Anything I might have done wrong or not done at all?

Don't go back to that game its a huge mistake, thats the best advice you will get :p

I've no idea what the problem could be but some advise is that if blizzard are still using the crappy P2P system it take ages (or at least they did for me). You will probably be able to get some direct downloads from other sources to speed it up, just make sure its a reputable site.

Its not the source of the d/l's its the fact its downloading and installing the game again AFTER I have installed it already from DVD. Its deffo not the patch its d/l either as the size of the d/l is exactly the same as the DVD.

Im confused now. Its nearly finished d/l now anyway so I shall see what happens now.

Edit.. I didnt want advice.:p I know its a mistake but hey, Im single again...:D

Its all a downward spiral from now on! Nah just kidding i'm sure you will enjoy it. Are you looking to get TLC too or are you just going to stick with TBC for now and work your way their eventually?

Ill just play it how I did last time. Just plod along and work my way up, meet some people and group. I like to follow the story and not rush through it. See how it goes.

If it's setup similar to SWG patching, then it will take several hours to download them all.

I went back and im loving it, and hey! I still have a social life. Self restraing, how shocking.

Sounds like youre a chunk of the way through the process, if i recall 3.02 is the nig one, theres only a couple of smallish ones after that. Honestly cant figure out the numbering, im sure its quite logical.

quick tip for next time, sod the CD's. Just go onto the account management and do the direct download from there. I think so much has changed since battlechest that theyre basically useless. Another tip is to keep the patches that are downloaded (in your downloads folder usually) in case you screw up the installation, especially the big ones. Finally, if youre really eager, start the trial, which you can play after about 10 mins as it downloads the basics and the starting areas first, whilst it downloads the rest. Then later on sign in with your account details. *I think this is just vanilla wow though*

Theres a pseudo-ocuk clan on Khazrananan or whatever that realm is called, 'the unit'. there doesnt seem to be much going on but im just casually levelling at the mo, so itll be more worthwhile when I hit the higher levels. Otherwise have fun!

Cheers Sleepless, I think I will like it again. Its been nearly 2 years since playing it last. The patch d/l now is the new one and its only 600mb so that will be done soon.

Only thing is I am not sure what to roll. I am nearly always Orc, no idea why, just like them.

You're an inspiration to us all.

I try.

Im finding the casting classes quite fun, was always a rogue before. Are there orc shamans? I was given no end of trouble in pvp by a shaman, seemed unkillable and I dont have silence yet. but once i do... come into the unit when you do get in /w pumpty he seems to be organising stuff.
