wow level 70, now what?

LOL i love it when people post about having no life. YOURE POSTING ON THE FORUM OF A WEBSITE DEDICATED TO HIGH END COMPUTER COMPONENTS. As far as the rest of the world is concerned you have no life already, geek.

Quit worrying about what the rest of the world thinks of you and ensure you even up computer time with beer time. Thats all.

I thought it was funny, I played WOW for about 10 days? for free and knew it would just eat up my time so I've kept away from it ever since.

(looks at TF2 stats on steam :o)

Level another character?

PVP for better gear?

get into a PVE guild but expect a commitment.

I used to be really into the ole PVE raiding and that for like 2 years, with 2 serious guilds, now looking back at it I just think "How sad." because of all the effort and how serious the guild officers/masters are, really makes it feel like a proper job.

Weird how things change.

I have to agree, raiding does seem like work rather than fun most of the time.

Raiding was defo fun at first! But as the game evolved after Molten Core and Blackwing Lair it started getting too much about the potions, AQ40 started this and Naxxramas took it to another level, having to farm potions constantly before every raid and use nearly all of them on one night just got tedious and that's when it started to feel like work.

Molten Core and Blackwing Lair were proper good though, great experiences but the game just dragged on and the game is just dead to me now completely.

for the nub called m4cc45, why flame, just don't come into the thread if you cannot bring anything cinstructive

Just my opinion mate. Thats what forums are about, peoples opinions whether they be informative, critical, etc.

My opinion is that, from here on in, there's not much to do other than the same thing over and over again (i.e. raids, etc.) getting lots of items (i.e. tier sets, etc.) requires doing the same thing over and over again. All be it a while back since I last played there were too many times when you relied on dice rolls to get an item you needed. You can amass lots of gold - but for what? I guess you could sell it on an auction site. Once you have your epic flying mount again theres not much else to aim for.

It seems that when ever anyone criticises WoW then every one defends it as if they're an employee of Blizzard. It's an okay game, certainly not the best I've ever played. I want to do more than stand there pressing buttons being shouted at by a 13 year old kid who wants 'uber lewt'. I like to feel involved in the game with the ability to dodge spells / arrows (i.e. move out of the way rather than relying on some random numbers generated by the server).

It is, after all, a game - not life or death!

Right, your opinion is that you raid, get tier sets etc etc. Now lets compare that to Final Fantasy.. you kill monsters, kill monsters, get items.. finish the game.. hmm I thought Final Fantasy is a grerat game but its just a lesser version of WoW in certain respects.

OK lets compare it with CoD4. You kill a bad guy... you kill another bad guy... you kill another bad guy. This sounds similar to WoW or grinding as you call it.

OK wait let me try to be fair, CoD4 has many levels and weopons etc.. oh so does WoW. WoW also releases new content reguarly hence one reason why you pay for it.

Good question, why do people defend WoW?

I want to do more than stand there pressing buttons being shouted at by a 13 year old kid who wants 'uber lewt'.

hmm did you just generalise people who play Warcraft as 13yrs old who shout all day long?

People defend World of Warcraft because of stupid remarks from people such as yourself who think they can have an opinion to brand it with the garbage you have just come out with.

Sounds like you no longer enjoy it so you feel the need to bash it and the people who still enjoy it.

Don't want to quote the entire post but I'll do it in sections:

Who said anything about playing Final Fantasy or COD4 - I was actually referring to Asheons Call which is another MMORPG (one of the first ones to start it off in fact) where you can dodge, you can vuln (make a monster / player more vulnerable to your spells or to weapons or to certain types of arrows, etc.) you can bane you can fight 400 monsters at a time if you want. So vastly different to WoW it's untrue. I'm, again, not saying it's the best game ever. However I prefer it to WoW.

As to the 13 year olds that is my experience of it. Go to most major areas and you have people crying out for items they want for nothing or help levelling or whatever. I'm not generalising every player is like that hell I've met some very nice people on there before now but this is few and far between.

As I said earlier it's not a bad game. It's very popular and in a popular game you are going to get people who want something for nothing but just stand back from it and think for five minutes. What happens when you have gotten to level 70 and gotten the best items you can get. You raid or repeat instances. That's it there is no more. No more until they release the next expansion pack which allows you to get to level 80 and adds a few more quests and items.

People defend WoW because they think that doing so gets them some kind of weird respect from other WoW players or that defending the game actually makes them like it more. It's kind of weird that my opinion is less than yours. You love it - correct? If you loved it so much why are you writing a post on here and not playing it?

I play WoW because I enjoy it, I do not love it as you have suggested.

With 10 million players you don't think there will be people that whine? So that means you can brand every player a 13yr old as you have done twice now and you still wonder why people defend it?

My reference to CoD4 and FF is that all games are similar in some respects. You used WoW to label it as an endless grind, I merely pointed out most games are "grinding" in some respect, killing the same computer generated monster, human or whatever you want to call it. The difference? people prefer one thing over another but you dont have everyone flaming the players from the games you might play

Excellent someone who can't read as well. I haven't labelled everyone on there a 13 year old (as you will see in my previous two post if you read them properly) I have met people on there who I enjoyed spending time with and who I still talk to.

Most games do have grinds in them - but most games continue on past level 70. Asherons Call is Level 275 (and trust me you won't be getting to that level in a few months even with help and power levelling). They also limit where you can go to specific areas and you feel like you are being led around by the hand. I also, sometimes, like to go off and do things on my own and for the majority of the later quests you can't do this - you need groups to do the instances which is a pain because when you play with a lot of American people the time differences make it hard to co-ordinate anything.

I'm still wondering why people defend it so pasionately - all I typed was three words and still we're going at it (so to speak) it's a game at the end of the day - nothing more!

Yes it is a game.

You generalise to much. First you label players as 13yr olds and ask why people defend it. Now you try to say you dont label us as 13yr olds and that you have friends from the game. If you said in the first post you quit because of a few 13yr olds you wouldn't be asking for someone such as myself to defend it.

I will learn to read when you learn to reply properly.

My God some of theses WOW players are a bit touchy. It's only a game - get a sense of perspective, and try a sense of humour while your'e at it. Oh i nearly forgot - ;)

Healers, and elves, and tanks don't have senses of humor, they are like a second personality and must be respected at all times !!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Had a housemate obssesed with the game, thank god he went travelling. So open your curtains, turn off your PC, and go outside and interact with some real people.
