WOW Post your UI and Character :)

I've been happy with Blizz' default UI, is there any benefit other UI's give other than just looks, do they let you do things easier, for example?

Yes they can improve your level of play by either more clearly displaying information or displaying information that otherwise wouldn't have been shown at all.

As an example, from mine posted above for instance, I can see above my own unit frame the buffs I have given myself during combat which are very important for me to maximize uptime of. These are displayed as part of the default blizzard as well as mine in the top corner, however in a raid I would have so many buffs that picking 3-4 from a wall of 30~ to monitor their time remaining to reapply within the last second would just be near impossible.

But at the end of the day, UIs looking nice is one thing, their actual function is to convey information ... so simplifying your UI to show only the exact information you require as well showing it clearly where needed will be a big boost to your performance.

Hmm, good points.

That said, I'm currently splitting my time between four different characters, I imagie that different UI variations are designed for different classes? Like, my paladin has buffs that he casts on others, but my Warlock just has personal buffs, and so on?

Either way, could you link me to the ones you use? Something to look into.

Mine supports multiple classes, you would merely have to setup classtimers to display the buffs/debuffs you deem important to track. The only real weakness of my UI is healing from my raid frames - I have no healers and I imagine it would be better to downoad a very tailored healing addon instead.

Addons I used:
Bagnon - Lumps all the bags into one large customizable bag.
ButtonFacade - Skins action buttons, I used the Trinity pack for the one I used
Chinchilla - Customizable minimap
Classtimer - Customizable display of buffs / debuffs
Dominos - Customizable action bars
Fontifer - Change all the fonts used in the UI
MikScrollingBattleText - Very customizable damage display
Pitbull4 - Handles unitframes, I <3 this addon
Prat3 - Customizable chat
SatrinaBuffFrame - Shows buffs
SharedMedia - A collection of fonts and graphics for bars and the like
SLDataText - Text display of time/gold/bagspace/fps/ping etc
Tidyplates - Better looking and customizable nameplates
Tiptac - Customizable tooltips

Hmm, I use:
Bagnon - Same reason as you
Ackis Recipe List - Tells you where you can get all the recipies you don't have for your professions.
Advanced Trade Skill Window - Shows far more info for professions ets you sort recipies into your own catagories, lets you sort by difficulty, and so on.
Altoholic - shows everything you need to know about your alts, can even track their items, banks, skills, everything.
Auctioneer - Goes without saying
G15 Buttons - Action bar for the G15's macro keys. Can't play without it now.
Gatherer - Shows everywhere you've mined/gathered from
Lil'Sparkey's workshop - Rather cheating, it hooks into Auctioneer and appears in your profession pages. Basically, for each recipe it shows you the price if you were to buy all the goods from vendors, and the cheapest AH price if some parts were only available there, and next to that it shows the price they are selling for. Great for making money.
MobInfo2 - Shows lots of mob info. Exp you get per kill, number to kill, but also lists all the drops you've seen from it. I like it for when farming mats, things like cloth.
Postal - Adds an 'open all' button to the mail box, useful when you have tons of unsold stuff on the AH to collect.
QuestHelper - Prefer it to Blizz's solution
SilverDragon - Pings up when a rare mob is loaded into the cache. Handy for a good challenging fight.
SpamSentry - Blocks trade spam
Titan Panel - the bar I have along the top, shows lots of junk I like to look at, such as exp per hour, and so on.

I'll have a look into a couple of the ones you mentioned.

I've never really thought much about UI mods, though I've got a fair few to do everything else. I'm currently:

are you a clicker?

Nope, the bar down the left hand side is an add-on for my G15. Bound all the macro keys to those buttons, got easy access to them all like that. Much easier than dealing with 1-0. About the only thing I use the bottom bar for is fishing :D

heres mine. it looked fine at lvl 60 but as i got more skills etc its got messy.

dont think i want the map in the midle any more, any suggestions?

Make the map smaller and make it round but keep it where it is imo it's the best place for the it.

I use sexymap.

Although I play with UI size on lowest and in 1920x1080.

Not much has really changed on mine since this one, although I have the Insane title now so I'm on to tracking Hydraxian Warlords and also you can't see my shiny HC Trauma in treeform :D

Unsure about the future of the guild though so may all change soon :(

Few bosses from ICC. The one of Sindragosa we got our first kill last week, and Putricide from today we wiped at 1%, never fails to end the raid on a bad note.
