WoW Running badly?

I didn't switch the game was running perfectly fine with CPU then all of sudden it started to dip in 40/50 fps in a specific area.

I would still warrant a fresh install after a motherboard and CPU change though, old chipset drivers and registry keys will be still around.

However if not, change all settings down to low/minimum and performance should return, then slowly raise settings until it gets to a point where performance is bad, and see which setting caused it. (that's if this is setting related).

If your CPU and GPU struggle with WoW then I would be heavily dissapointed.

I haven't changed motherboard or CPU it's always been like this. Just haven't updated my SIG. If I stand in the same area and change my settings to high FPS returns to 60 so I'm guessing it's just my pc not being able to provide 60 fps with my settings.

Sorry, it just reads as if you have recently upgraded and changed your CPU.
Try an overclock on the chip, bring it up to 4ghz and see if performance changes.

I've updated my GPU drivers to the latest ones specifically for the WoW expansion however that hasn't changed anything. I'm not sure what to do really when I'm ultra in that area it varies from 40-60. When I'm on high it varies from 50-60 However my GPU usage doesn't go anywhere near 100 percent highest I saw it was 70 percent so why it's not able to give me 60 FPS I don't know the CPU is hardly working to improve my FPS it's Usage is still very low.

I'm not sure what to do really any suggestions it's clearly capable of running WoW on ultra 1440p with my pc I would've thought however it seems to struggle in this one area Any suggestions? I'll update my chipset driver now to see if that's the issue.

As a reference. My 3 year old Phenom II x6 1090t and my Asus 560ti Direct CU II can run wow fine on full graphics at about 60fps.

Thats not including streaming though. You may have a bottleneck somewhere. For instance it could be HDD related trying to render the textures. Or it might just be the game itself.

My wife plays using a dual core pentium at stock with a 5870 GPU. Setings have been tweaked to medium mostly but it plays fine. Something very wrong there OP.

For some reason my mind is screaming EFI update and chipset drivers. Very odd indeed. Is the temps ok for the processor? Wonder if it's underclocking at all?

Random suggestion:

If you aren't using nvidia experience for driver updates, get a driver cleaner, run it, do the reboot back to standard/crap drivers, install latest and reboot again.

Back when I played I had an nvidia card for ages, seemed fine, had a think about it and I never did get around to cleaning off some old ati drivers. Have had the same issue going the other way before too.

Might be worth looking at - the last 5 "BIOS" updates for the Asus Rampage IV Extreme have been the rather generic "Improve system stability." which could encompass anything.

I think windows 8.1 might be your issue, at least I know some guildies that have an performance issues with windows 8.1

Before everyone says my system is the problem I thought a perfect test for this is to jump onto my brothers computer, 970 I5 3570K @4.4 same area same settings FPS was even lower 30-50 on Windows 7 so I've come to the conclusion just to live with it because it's the game not being able to optimize my components to their full potential

I get 30fps dips in Ashran too on my i5 2500k @ 4.5ghz and R9 290. Assumed it was game limitation, barely uses any CPU compared to other games which is annoying.

Yeah you're right mate I've come to conclusion as well because mine, yours and my brothers do the same.
