WoW: Shaman Question

Don't level any class in anything other than its most efficient dps spec in my opinion. Spec healing at the level cap if you feel that way inclined, but otherwise you're pretty much doubling the time it takes to kill something.

Resto Shammies make fine healers. Pallies are far and away the best healers in the game though. I suspect even the slight nerf they've suffered in the last patch hasn't changed that.

When you git 35, run through SM loads and then change to Enhancement.

Tis what i did, you get some lovely gear from in there.

Then at 60 go back to resto to heal the instances from then on.

But whatever you do, just do it to have fun, dont do it becuse someone told you to do it and you dont enjoy it, play how you want to play.

What nerf was that? I was considering..*gasp*..playing again on a paladin..

Illumination used to return 100% of mana cost on a spellcrit. It meant that Pallies who stacked +spellcrit could outheal anything by a vast margin and not have to drink mana pots. Illumination now returns only 60% of the spell cost on a crit.

Pallies are also the best 5 man tanks as well (Consecration will keep 6 mobs stuck to you like glue) if you get a decently geared one.

the truth.

To Threadstarter:

Level up as Enhancement, you're such a low level that speccing resto will be extremely slow and will not make much impact on your healing abilities (the core talents of Restoration are very late in the tree).

Erm what? Admittedly its a few months since I played, but Paladins have always been awesome healers. Low mana costs, higher mana regen, more from +heal, quicker casting spells..?

Blessing of light + Flash of light with a relatively low +heal and mp5 (certainly in comparison with a priest, I never healed on my shaman) is the best healing you can get bar none.

Indeed it hasnt changed. Paladins are fantastic healers. Lots of +Spell Crit and tiny costs = imba healing. And they can keep healing when they run out of mana. And they can be invincible. I mean. wtf.

Ah thats a shame, illumination always rocked, especially with Divine Favour on a 2 minute cooldown..

Pallies always where the best 5 man tanks, back on the old Seal of Fury mechanics nothing could come remotely close.

I used to have a reasonably well kitted healing specced Priest until I gave up the green bar game. I recall some instances where I'd be totally out of mana, with potion and Shadowfiend used (heroics, for example). Now I'm playing my Mage and I see Pallies completing those same pulls and ending up on 60% mana. Absolutely and utterly daft how much better a plate wearing class, with 12 seconds immunity, 6 second stun and half-threat heals is than the Priest.
