No one seemed to answer these questions of mine on the official forums, so im trying here :)

Feel free to add more in as i think with TBC being so close it would be nice to have a few little things answered:

1) When I get The Burning Crusade next week, and get the key code to upgrade my account. Do I also need to install the data on the disk, or has it been added already via the patches we had? So the disk we get is basically for backup purposes. What I mean is can i just use the cd-key code to upgrade and begin playing?

2) Do my current 2.0.1 addons that are compatible with the current patch, will be compatible (thus not requiring an upgrade) with TBC?

3) If I get to level 61 does that mean Alterac Valley is no longer accessible or will they have another tier (61-70) with bosses and npc's levelled respetively.

4) A more personal question...level slowly or level fast to 70? im preferring the former :P

1) Yes you will need the data on the disk as well. most of the content downloaded via the patches is for the people who will not be buying the burning crusade.

2)Unknown, the coding system is the same so most addons should work however, i would expect some addons especially those that are situational will need upgrading. However, this should be a smoother upgrade for coders (comapred to 2.0 upgrade) as the code system will be the same.

3)The new level range for AV is L61-70 (in addition to the old 51-60 level range). However, at the moment (and personally as a raider soemthing i heavily agree with) the level 70 pvp rewards are rare items not epics the only way to get epic pvp rewards are via the arena system which you can not particapte in (skirmishes don't count) until you are level 70 and even then the tier 4 kit is a fair bit better than the pvp arena kit.

4) Personal to be honest. However, in the first few weeks leveling will be anightmare, there are two starting areas and almost everone will want to quest. Meaning hundreds if not thousands of people all trying to kill same mob or get the same drop or escort the same guy. This problem is further compunded by those who insist on grinding again meaning that it will be hard to quest. However there is an instance that is available right at the beginning and will probably be one of the best ways of leveling (with a group)

1)The new outland content will be massive so i dont think a patch will cover the whole of it, so the TBC data will be on the disk not the patch.

2)Well on http://ui.worldofwar.net/ it will tell you if your current mod is TBC ready

3)Im not sure about this one sorry

4)They say the grind from level 61-70 is like leveling your character from 1 - 60.
so having a fast start is a good idea imo :)

1) Been answered pretty well already - the content in the patches is available to all players whereas all BC only content is on the BC DVD.
2) There are no functions that have been changed in the API from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2, just a bunch of new stuff added so your current addons should work no problem.
3) As has been said there's a new level bracket for AV, along with the new Eye of the Storm BG which is available to level 61+.
4) One of the best things Blizzard have done with BC is put together a brilliant quest flow, I'm yet to find a point where I have no quests to do, or need to grind for whatever reason. So once you get started, levelling is seamless and actually surprisingly easy.

A little point to remember. On the release day if you are fortunate enough to actually HAVE your TBC game and code then good luck trying to access the wow-europe web site to actually upgrade your account. Remember everyone else will be trying to do the same so the naff web page will fall over major style like it always does.

Personally i think it will be at least a full week before you can resume anything like normal game playing after the release. Thats assuming thr servers actually come back up of course :D

Agreed, I am staying clear of wow for at least a week, I think the servers will be down more often than up.

Not sure if I will wait a week, but have the opportunity of being up later than most on the day of release so might try to sneak in a quick key-code update at night. Or early in the morning :P It's a shame they did not release it a few days prior to the server update and allow us to add the code before hand. Though im sure new servers will work ok, its totally useless when the account management goes down with less of a load than will be on Tuesday.

I wouldn't rely on any mod sites to be properly operational on release day. It will be the same as, if not worse than, a big patch day, when everyone is trying to get their mods updated at the same time.

Due to a hospital appointment I've got the day off on the 16th. I hope my copy arrives then as I'll sure as hell want to get TBC working asap. Just like everyone else. If it doesn't, meh no big deal I'm sure I'll br able to find other things to do with the day :)

My suggestion is log out near the dark portal before TBC goes live. Not to make it quick because of server issues, but ganking might be bad with the influx of people in the area. Heard a few alliance on my server plan to blockade it to stop the horde entering. Being horde myself i don't like the sound of it...but I transferred to a low Naxx-progressed server and i am 8/9 tier 3 :-)

I heard though that some of outland is neutral...not contested but neutral so both sides become unflagged and 'blue'

I struggled to give up WoW and now this is tempting me back.

However I agree with the other people, you won't be able to do much for a good week after release. I remember WoW release day well, I was lucky and got registered before the servers went down, I was playing while others couldn't put their CD-keys in! :D

Show off :D

Thankfully I'm on a PVE server, Kinda knew this sort of thing would happen on the PVP realms, Flashback to blockading jumpgates in EVE online :p

Is it worth getting TBC if you only have low level characters, or is all the new stuff for levels 60+ only?

OT - What does Naxx mean?

Yeah there is some low end content, new races to play ect. And you wont be low forever will you? And Naxx means Naxaramas which is an end game dungeon.

Deffo worth getting mate, if you have only got low lvl characters then possibly try out one of the two new races,

As far as i am aware you can only actually play as one of the new races if you have the expansion pack.

is lvl 60-61 really over 400k xp? If so ugh that is gonna take a while.

Don't forget though, you should get much more experience for a level 70 kill than a level 60, and the same with quests. I've not looked into it at all, but I'd expect it to be exactly the same as the previous 60 levels, where money, rep and experience increase with each level.
