WoW TBC questions

i dont think there is any patch going live when TBC comes out, as i know it, todays was the last patch before TBC is released, You install the game off the disc and the disc contains all the content, so its not like every1 is gonna be hammering the servers at all.

it should just be as normal except extremely populated at the dark portal and a few areas when you go through it.

to get to level 61 its 494k xp just look at the bar when your 60 and it will tell u how much is needed, then its double so 62 will be close to a million and so on and so forth, thus why they say it will take the same time to get 70 as it did to get 60, i would say on an average of say 5 hiours a night it would take around a month perhaps, that would be doing quests. if you just grinded on mobs u coudl do it quicker no doubt.

WoW on release day was fine after the initial surge of ppl creating accounts, i remember when i managed to log on despite the odd time i would be disconnected it was hours of solid gameplay. Am sure blizzard have learnt a lot since there launch of the game.

What about all the people who have decided to come back due to the expansion? Or the ones who decided to just start playing because they like the sound of the expansion? How about all the people who will be starting new characters and completely filling the new starting areas?

Blizzard have learned from the launch? So I guess there is never downtime after a patch, and the website is up all the time? I have never been able to access the WoW website after a major patch, and I really don't expect this to be any different.

in that case do what some ppl here have said and do one for a week or so, i and blizzard aren't forcing u to put up with "possible" server issues u do so at your own sake. dunno why ppl moan and cry about server problems when they already no they are gonna happen. IF anythign blizzard are laughing at the moaners, they no its gonna happen and so do there customers yet they still moan, dont u learn anything?

either don't play or don't moan.

At no point have I said that I'm going to try and play at all on release day. I don't see how stating that it will be difficult to get on, or do anything once you are on, is moaning.
Please, learn to type properly.

Because they pay for it. They have a right to moan. **** poor tech support was one of the major reasons I left. They make so much cash and they know kids will keep coming back that they dont care.

To be honest, I think I like the fact the XP is like it is. When you reached 60 prior to TBC being announced it was around 242,000 now with the patch yesterday morning (awesome dark portal antics) its around 480,000. But why after a year or so of waiting for new content would people want to zoom to 70? All the places look really interesting and well made, getting to 70 should reflect the 70 zones...an awesome looking netherstorm. Sooner I get to 70, sooner my armour comes obsolete and another bout of raiding every night in the same instance.

I think i will get to 61...maybe 62 then ease off and just relax doing the new pvp zone and not grind every day 5 hours a night :P

^ as said.

I have rushed through a lvl 12 hunter to lvl 60 just for the expansion lol.

Im going to take my time exploring the new areas, also being on a PvE server will help things. I can pvp when i want, but also quest without pvp's causing me grief as im taking out a lvl 50+ elite in the cauldron.

With regards to the XP and levelling question. Currently non-rested against a 60 elite gets you about 700exp if my vague memory of killing elites in EPL oh so many months ago is right.
In outlands, average quest turn in exp is 10k, and thats for minor(ish) quests. Mob kills are 1k+exp so although the experience required is a lot, it's all balanced out by how much exp you get from mob kills and quests.

I've played BC beta an awful lot(it's too addictive and a great expansion!), i can tell you 60-70 doesn't take an awful long time as quests give more exp, exploring areas too but the main thing that gives the most noticeable exp increase is the group bonus in instances which if i remember you get around 200-300 more per kill.

I expect the servers to be down until the next day's evening as it's a very big patch plus BC still has some annoying bugs which i am sure blizzard wish to rid. Also they seemed to of listened to customers more with this expansion having made the item gaps a lot smaller, like for example best blue items from 5 person doable instances aren't much worse than best items from karazhan which is a 10 person instance.(though some epic items there need adjusting still as they are worse than some lv70 blue items.)

I like the sounds of that, if I choose to hang back at 61 or 62 doesn't mean it will take me so long to get back up. Also means being more casual of a player now with college I can play when I can for a short time and make some progression. Might be loads of 70's by the time I get there, but thats really a good thing. If you go to 70 in a week, who would be around in the BG leagues to fight with? :P

Plus last time i zoomed past the cool zones and didn't appreciate it, need to enjoy the game not go mad for new loot like i have done before! Im on a rp-pvp server so hopefully this will make it enjoyable (though Alliance still wait till you have 5 mobs on you before they gank you  )

lol u canna say you were nerf'd your hardly a long term player :D

or should i say its not as if your at lvl 60 and all a sudden you have lost most of your dps abilities.

what have they done to locks?

I tend to play as hunters and warriors, dont really like the magic side of things tbh.

Have a rogue called ShiftHappens i am starting to like the rogue class, only lvl 19.

Trying to figure out what you were saying actually hurt my head.

I'm just about to order my copy.

Got 4 days to get my 56 Cow Warr to 60 :p (I'm almost to 57 so hopefully manage it).

So once you install TBC you're lvl 60 char just carries on as normal?

Does the dark portal send you across to that new area on the map then?

Soz for n00b Qs, this is my first WoW char so still learning!

[Edit: will talent points need to be respent?

Can't wait to roll a blood elf

Just for someone coming back to the game after a year long absence, have they done anything to shamans? i know there was a lot of debate that they were too overpowered and people were demanding nerfs.

To be fair i chose a shaman on release day because i liked the sound of them and after a few months was demonised for having a stupidly powerful character, not my fault :p

But yeah, i used to be a melee windfury shaman with earth damage, am i going to load up my character and find everything missing? :p
