No not really. It's nothing like as one-sided as Mage v Warlock or Mage v Druid, Mage v Priest.

It's no coincidence that a PvP warrior can intercept every 15 secs which is exactly the same cooldown as blink. It guarantees them a mortal strike and possibly a white hit. That combined with spell reflect macros, pvp trinkets and intimidating shout mean that a good warrior can trouble a good mage and kill an average one.

Compare to Mage v Druid where the Druid will win with 100% health and 75% mana remaining.

The lead developer has played a warrior for some time. Now you may think him entirely free from bias, or you may take it as playing at least a small role in the massive over representation of the warrior class in all arena brackets. Just one of the reasons I don't PvP in WoW any more.

judging by talent changes destruction will not be the raid spec for locks anymore come WOTLK

Level affliction, its the highest DPS way. People are like when you get to 50 do demonogist and get a fel guard. Yea that might sound good, but its not. Alliction is 5x faster to level.

Destruction only really comes into it's own when you are tier 5'd up with 202 hit, ~25% crit and 1200 + dmg. Affliction is best for levelling and pre-tier 5 although it's nice to always have 1 affliction lock in a raid. Saying that i will be moving back to affliction for WOTLK.

My favourite toon to play was a Shadow priest. Great for soloing PvE, and fun for PvP.. only problem is people generally dont want you in a Raid Group

Do you actually know what you are talking about? Destro is the highest DPS route, Affliction is good for no down time but takes time to master mob control etc, demo is just easy lvling and survival as demo u can take on mobs 4 or 5 lvls higher than you easily.

At the end of the day play how you want to as once you get to raiding high enough you will be shadow destro anyway.

Also in WotLK the destro tallents look quite nice, fire destro is looking to be around 1.25 incinterate case + dps from imp, none of this DS for +15% shadow damage but with fel dom and some timely sacrifices you can keep +20% haste up quite nicely.
