I've yet to find a game that wouldn't play on my Athlon 2500 (3200 speeds) witha gig of ram and 6600GT
I do agree with you, But then there is play, and there is PLAY, I Upgraded from a Barton [email protected], 1gb ram, and X800XL, I Could play BF2 with almost max settings, and Oblivion with relativly high settings, at 1024x768, to a X2 4800+, 2GB Ram and X1900XTX and wow, the difference, I Fire up BF2 max resolution, max settings, load time from 8 mins to 30 seconds, fps max, now slowdown when starting a match, I load oblivion up, max settings, 1680x1040 resolution, and am stunned by graphics and fps.

Prety much From XP to X2 is well worth it, My PC Went from what I thought was fast to jaw droppingly fast!

Oh and Actualy thinking on I would disagree, FEAR Is a hard one to play with the spec you said

Hey if you like to play games at 1024*768 at low detail then that's your choice. ;)
well, Dawn of war, 1600x1200,
most games at a little less, but above 1024x768 ALWAYS and never low detail, always medium or max where I can
