Hi, just started the game and chose rogue class. I was just wondering which ability should I add? assasination, combat or the subwhatever? Many thanks.

A good site for info on a rogue is -

www.roguespot.com

Your build is dependant on how you play but heres an example of a couple of grinding builds. (extract from the above site).

Talents

Most people recommend the Combat build 21/30 for grinding.

Advantages
The simplicity of the grind, Sinister Strikes followed by Eviscerate/Slice and Dice. You want slow swords on the main hand for maximizing your SS damage. Fast off hand weapon (usually a dagger) for poison procs.

Disadvantages
Kind of boring, grinding tends to get boring, having a Combat Build makes it even more boring. Also it’s my personal opinion that it does not do the same amount of damage that my Dagger build (technically the Osiris build). From tests done at level 18 I was getting 10K/hr versus 13K/hr with the Dagger build.

Assassination Talents (21 points)
Improved Eviscerate - 3/3 points 12-14
Malice - 5/5 points 35-39
Remorseless Attacks - 1/5 point 15
Ruthlessness - 3/3 points 40-42
Murder - 2/2 points 43-44
Relentless Strikes - 1/1 point 54
Lethality - 5/5 points 55-69
Cold Blood - 1/1 point 60

Combat Talents (30 points)
Improved Sinister Strike - 2/2 points 10-11
Improved Gouge - 3/3 points 16-18
Deflection - 5/5 points 19-23
Precision - 5/5 points 24-28
Riposte - 1/1 point 29
Dual Wield Specialization - 5/5 points 30-34
Blade Flurry - 1/1 point 45
Sword Specialization - 5/5 points 46-50
Aggression - 3/3 points 51-53

Subtlety Talents (0 points)

The Dagger (Osiris) build, 24/10/17.

Advantages
Huge damage, especially at level 18+ when you get ambush. Ambush > Gouge > BS, if timed right you will have enough energy to do BS right when Gouge is about to expire. Main hand you want a dagger with the most damage you can get, off hand again should be something fast. Dual daggers are how it usually works best. At level 22 your damage takes off due to Improved Ambush and then later Ruthlessness.

Disadvantages
This build requires skill, proper timing so that the Backstab lands. Moreover it will require you to move behind the enemy with Stealth and then move behind him again after the Gouge. It takes work but it has greater damage potential than the Combat build.

My preference was the Dagger build, it makes it exciting when you are grinding because of all the movement. If you feel that you do not have the skill or you want grinding to be a little bit more simple go with the Combat build, you will not miss out much.

Assassination Talents (24 points)
Improved Eviscerate - 3/3 points 30-32

Malice - 5/5 points 33-37
Murder - 2/2 points 43-44
Ruthlessness - 3/3 points 45-47
Relentless Strikes - 1/1 point 48
Lethality - 5/5 points 38-42

Combat Talents (10 points)
Improved Sinister Strike - 2/2 points 10-11
Improved Gouge - 3/3 points 49-51
Precision - 5/5 points 52-56

Subtlety Talents (17 points)
Camouflage - 5/5 points 12-16
Opportunity - 5/5 points 17-21
Improved Ambush - 3/3 points 22-24
Initiative - 4/5 points 57-60

On a pvp server for pvp fun yes awesome. But get to end game you'll find little options and big difficulties getting an end game guild.

just wanted to ask a question im lelvel 60 rogue, epic, have sword skill at 310 but just got both the hakkri warblades, so now at 316, does this make any awefulyl lot of differenc?

My advice is try to join a relatively new server whichever class you go.

I adored shaman when I played before due to the variety but now play a paladin on a PVP server and am still loving it, due to the variety still :D

Surely you can tell by the amount of dmg done and how often you crit/miss?

Damn double post.

Ye, but one thing with me is, once I have decided to stick to a class, I will go along with it till the end. So before I actually make the wrong decision, I would love to hear from the WoW players here on what classes is good to use.

They're all different, that's why there are more than 1 or 2.

Most classes have a purpose which you should look at before choosing your play style. SO the first thing you want to do is look at what you want to do in the game. I'll quickly outline the things I know about classes.

Mage: Dps, good for groups and has some brilliant area damage. Weak as can only wear cloth.

Rogue: Can wear leather so not stupidly weak, high dmg but not particularly helpful in a group seeing as they'll tend to draw aggro off the tank.

Hunter: Not a clue, everyone seems to be one though. Personally I don't see the appeal.

Shaman(Horde only): My favourite. Can be very good at pvp later on if you go down the right tree, has some great group buffing ability and can heal aswell. Just changed to alliance and I was very miffed that I couldn't still be a shaman. Can wear leather until 40 when they can wear mail

Paladin(alliance only): The alliance version of the shaman, can heal, can be a tank to a certain extent and can deal some good damage given the right talent build. Also have some excellent buffs.

Priest: Healing whores. No more to say. Can only wear cloth so they die real quick.

Warlock: Like hunter, not got a clue.

Warrior: Tanks, they sit at the front of combat taking the damage and dealing it back to keep agro on them. Not really sure but I think they can make themselves either super tough or higher dps depending on the play style.

Druid: Another very versatile class. The idea of druid is like shaman, a support class for the varying jobs in a group. In different forms they do different things. Cat form deals damage rivaling rogues, bear form packs on the armor for tanking. I think they have another form for damage spellcasting. They're the second best healers in the game and have some good buffs for groups.

Allakhazam is a brilliant soruce of info I use very often, here is their class overview.

Higher sword skill will up your DPS which is one of the reasons why rogues go for the Maladath sword (http://www.thottbot.com/?i=40807) but It all depends on the level Mob your fighting and your hit percentage. The guide below explains it.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Formulas:Weapon_Skill

The Hakkari offhand weapon is a good rogue offhand but the Hakkari mainhand is not really much good due to its speed. It does n't give you those big SS crits you need. If you are doing MC go for Brutality blade MH.

Totally disagree, a good rogue will not pull agro due to being able to fient and vanish. I've done loads of instances from all the 5 mans up to Naxx and a mage or warlock has much more trouble with agro than a rogue.

Of course, a rogue who does n't control his dps/fienting will pull agro but thats the luck of the draw on who you party with.

I would say dont bother rolling a rogue if you want to do 40man high end raids, very hard to get in a raiding guild due to so many rogues on the servers although with TBC coming out, its going to be totally different so who knows how it will pan out then.

Hi, how do you dual wield weapons? Everytime I try to put another weapon in off hand, it says, unable to dual wield.

I think you might need to visit a weapon trainer (in one of the capital cities) - ask a guard for directions.

And which server you guys mostly play at? And how do you see which server is EU based and which r US based anyway

If you have an EU copy of the game, you will only be able to see and play on EU servers.
