WP & Gmail sync

I've noticed on my WP. If I read and delete gmails. Then run Sync. Its not updated on my gmail. Maybe theres a long time lag or something. But I find I'm having to delete the emails again, when I connect via the laptop to my gmail. Maybe its a setting I've not set?

I assume you're not using POP3 but IMAP? (When setting up on WP it will default for imap for a Gmail account...)


It should sync, but might take longer than a proper push service.

I just used the defaults. Can I set it up as pop3 do you think that would work better?

No pop3 is less good as it has no 2 way sync it just downloads a copy of the mail from the server. IMAP will talk back to Gmail and tell it you've read/deleted an email eventually and I think that's the best you can do with WP at the moment.
