Hi all

Im not sure you can help but im hoping you can if that makes sence..

Anyway my isp is virgin media and the modem i use to connect to the internet is a (Motorola sb4200 cable modem), and i recently brought a (Netgear WPN824v2 RangeMax Wireless Router) so that we could run another desk using the wireless router together with a (TP-LINK 108M Wireless USB adaptor model number TL-WN620G), so that the other desktop can start recieving wireless, but since we have had it, its getting very poor connection and is always going down today it happend 10 in 6mins, surely that should happen, but i dont know much about wireless so maybe there somethink in the router setup i need to change maybe ! or somethink on the other pc that will be using the wireless that i also need to change, but im lost so im hoping someone out there can point me in the right direction.

Look forward to your replys

How the hell do i do that !

Go into the wireless settings for the router and find the section that mentions wireless channels. I think the Default is Channel 6.

I find to go further and optimise speeds I have to change my channels around according to weather conditions, high pressure low channel, low pressure high channel (as in number).

Ok i went into the wireless network settings, but were it says channel its on 06 but i cant seem to change it, but underneth there is somethink called mode, should that be changed if so which is the best setting, and then if i can change the channels which is best,

Thanks for the replies.:)

The options i get in mode are as follows :-

Auto 108Mbps (which is what im using at min and since i had the router)
B Only
G Only
G % B

I really dont have a clue when it comes to routers swinnie, so im very gratefull.

Ps I will say since ive had the router etc, i havnt touched any setting in the router at all, as dont have a clue, not sure if im suppose to or not !

Same modem and router setup here and never had any problems.

Pic of my settings below - if you need any more let me know.

Also make sure you have the latest firmware (V2.0.20_1.2.17)

Change the mode from auto to G and B, change the channel to a different one (i found 11 the best for me) And where it says 108mbps settings i have advanced 108mbps features ticked and XR Features not ticked.
