Hi

Used to like watching the odd bit of the rally car championship but cant seem to find it anywhere now that I want to start watching it again.

I did check the official website and it says ESPN screen it ? but cant see it in there tv listings.

Can anyone who watches this , do you happen to know when and what channel I can watch live race coverage?

thanks

It was a complete mess. For reasons I can't remember off the top of my head, it's now down to the individual WRC event promoters themselves to sign TV rights deals. This has led to mass confusion and very little televised WRC.

Jean Toad deserves a kick in the balls for ****ing this up.

shame really , because its a lot more exciting than F1 , would the coverage on motors tv be live?

Really? It's a Loeb walk over with only 3 manufacturers.

It used to be exciting, but recently its just been dull. The lack of decent coverage doesn't help.

And no, the MotorsTv coverage is not live. It's difficult to do live rallying, although the IRC coverage is a beacon of excellence.

It's a real shame rallying and touring cars have become less popular over the years.
I find them both to be very exciting unlike f1 which is just a huge money machine.
Touring cars is on itv4 every Sunday though which is good along with Clio cup, porche cup and a few others.would love to see rallying get a stable platform

I used to watch it loads in late 80's and early 90's with vatinen, mcrae, pentti etc and there was loads of good coverage including live stages on the UK round. Haven't watched it in years but got interested when I saw this thread. Having read it though doesn't seem that there is much to get excited about any more?

What the hell!

How come Hirvonen is driving a Citroen now? He was Ford's Golden Boy?

(shows how out of touch I am with WRC that I've only just noticed this)

Edit: And Solberg is in a Ford?

I remeber the 2003 season, they were all fighting hard for the title Solberg, Loeb, Mcrae, Sainz, Makinen. The final celebrations in wales with Solberg were so good. Shame rallying isnt like that anymore

They need to let the WRC die now. It's dignity has long gone, now it's just plain cruel.

Come back to it in the future if they can get more manufacturers on board.

Don't forget we're moving to new regulations as of the 2013 season, with Group A and N being phased out for Group R. Not totally sure of the complete differences though. There is a class (R5) which could be homologation free (TBA), and will replace R4 (which is basically Group N) so could be exciting. However, if the organisers can't get decent coverage, I fear that it'll make no difference.
