Hi,

I need write/full access to some files that are located in the Program Files folder on a Windows 7 64 bit machine but keep getting access denied messages. Can anyone please tell me how to temporarily allow write/full access to this folder?

I am the PC owner with admin priveliges but just cannot seem to get round the permissions to enable write/full access.

Open Start menu > Type Windows Explorer > Right Click Windows Explorer > Run as Administrator > Copy files in that elevated Explorer instance

If you need to write files FROM another application (IE not a copy) follow the same process but substitute Windows Explorer for the required application. (Needs to run elevated as an admin in order to be able to write to Prog Files)
