Hi, I tried updating my bios through windows @BIOS (ga-p35-ds3r mobo)
After restarting my computer it wont boot to windows anymore. I think I may have chosen the wrong bios. How do I fix this? I tried doing qflash and update it to the correct bios but windows still wont boot.

If you uploaded the wrong bios, You may have to try a bios recovery...I'll try and have a look to see if you can actually do this.

**EDIT**

Hang on, so your still getting video etc? You just cant go into windows? With the Qflash, has it not kep the original bios before you upgraded it?

You can't install the wrong BIOS on the Gigabytes.

Try clearing your CMOS.

Try clearing your CMOS.

I unplugged the power cord, put a metal thing on the 2 pins. (but didnt remove the battery). Would this work?

actually the windows loading screen shows up (the moving bar), after that it wont coninue to windows anymore. just stays stuck on a blank page

Go into BIOS and select Load Optimized Defaults, save and exit and see if it helps.

Nope it just restores the current BIOS settings to default.

But be sure to set your memory to it's recommended voltage.

You mean the bios file that was originally on the motherboard? I'm affraid it doesn't, it just clears all the setting's in the bios.

The only thing I can suggest is you try one of the other Bios files off of the site, Some bios's 'can' be faulty and give undesired effects.

We get this at work with new bios releases sometimes :)

Finally re-installed vista. Vista wont install (hangs during installation) with other bioses. Had to put the original F2 bios to install it properly! What a pain!
Now im scared to update my bios. Might mess up my system again.
