Hey, i have managed to put my os on the wrong hard drive. is it possible to put it on another one with out formating?

am i right in saying its mirroring?

the reason i ask is i have managed to put it on an old ide drive thats noisy and would prefer it on my samsung f1 drive thats nice and quiet

You need to image the contents of the IDE drive onto the Samsung using the likes of Acronis True Image. Obviously you need to have empty, unpartitioned space on the Samsung or be willing to overwrite what's on there.

BTW, mirroring is running two, usually identical, disks and keeping them in sync (either using RAID1 or OS level partition mirroring) for improved availability.

Ahh i see, no problem, i will go have a look tonite at doing that. i dont have anything on the samsung as it was where my original os was but then changed mobo and stuff so formated.
