I recently purchased a Ati X1650 Pro off the internet, and it read "PCI-E" slot. I currently have an Asus Nvidia 8500GT PCI-E card,so i expected it to fit into my Asus M2N-E Sli Motherboard but it cleary doesn't...anyone know why, or is it just me buying a card that doesn't fit my motherboard? :d

Regards
Ben

Simple question but does the connector on the Ati card look the same as the one on the nVidia card?

Well, its the things on the bottom of it, that actually go into the port. They just dont fit in for some reason ? Maybe its the wrong port...but then i checked and it was right :S

I expect it's just a very tight fit. It's the same with RAM, sometimes it won't go in even if it's the correct slot. Unfortunately, the only way to get it in is to push harder and eventually it goes it.

But only after much worrying that you're about to break your motherboard.

Of course, this is assuming that you definately know that it's the correct slot for your mobo :p
