WSUS - Server 2008r2

Needs a GPO. By default PCs will try to connect to Windows Update on the Internet. The fact you have 50 PCs in the WSUS console means you already have a GPO. WSUS doesn't go looking, the clients have to be told where to look.

Create a new GPO with similar settings but without the option to automatically install and reboot. Link this GPO to the Domain Controllers OU.

You will need to login to each DC once a month and install the patches manually (at a time of your convenience).

I've looked through the catalogue of software it can distribute updates for and Win 10 isn't listed.

Dont forget the WSUS server itself needs adding to the WSUS so it can receive its windows updates as well.
This way it will download and update itself and add new products to the catalogue of software ! ;)

Then products like Windows 10 etc will start to appear so you can push the updates out from it. Its amazing how many people forget that the WSUS server also needs updating!

I solved this problem during the reinstall of the WSUS. When I downloaded the wsus file and ran it during setup one of the options was to distribute Win10 updates.

It wasn't in the catalogue when it was originally installed.
