WTF is going on with my sound?

Whenever a new page pops up on my browser the sound sounds as if it's being put through a notch filter, and every new page that opens it changes the tone of the filter slightly. This happens with speakers and headphones. :confused:

The only other thing in my PCI slots is a wireless card and I've tried swapping that and the soundcard round and same result. It's bizarre. Any ideas?

Are the drivers upto date. Does your motherboard have onboard sound? If so try using this instead of your pci card. At least by this you may be able to narrow it down.

I've checked everything, I think the soundcard itself is screwed to be honest.

test with different speakers or headphones just to eliminate them too.
